SailGP , the F50 catamaran competition, the fastest in the world, has entrusted its communication to AMT Comunicación . A total of eight nations (Spain, Australia, Denmark, France, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand and the USA) compete in short sleeves aboard F50s with the same performance , making the competition fall on the athletes.
The competition culminates with a match-race (boat against boat) in which the winning team receives a million dollars as a prize. SailGP has been designed with the aim of generating fans and interest through the spectacular nature of the competition and by holding the events just a few miles from the coast. SailGP combines technology, competitiveness, sustainability and sporting spirit. The Spanish SailGP team is made up of eight of the best sailors in the country, among which are four qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games and two who will soon obtain their pass for the Olympic event. The team is also characterized by being the youngest in the competition and being the only one to have a woman as CEO of the crew, María del Mar de Ros. The Spain SailGP Team is also about to recruit two women, chosen from around twenty candidates, to train them in this competition. The Bay of Cádiz will host, on October 9 and 10, the SailGP Grand Prix of Spain, Andalusia – Cádiz, being the first time that this competition is held in the waters of our country. Chosen among other candidate cities (Valencia, Barcelona and Ibiza), the Cádiz test will coincide with the Hispanic Heritage Festival and the celebration of the V Centenary, commemorating the fact that 500 years ago the Spaniards made the first trip around the world.
